CCS - Orlando at Avalon Park is a specialized 20-bed Transitional Living Facility that provides comprehensive rehabilitation services to individuals with brain and spinal cord injuries - with an added focus on Activities of Daily Living (ADL) Training. Founded as a result of Donna Marini's efforts, CCS - Orlando (Center For Comprehensive Services) is a community-based transitional living facility built with a specific purpose of helping those with spinal cord injuries learn independent living skills so they can resume fuller, more productive lives after hospital discharge. The center offers residential intensive therapy - both inpatient and outpatient - including physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, dietary services, ADL training (activities of daily living), nursing, physician coverage and counseling. As part of Mentor ABI (Acquired Brain Injury), CCS-Orlando at Avalon Park has access to cutting edge expertise and best practices from across the nation. Mentor ABI is an experienced national network composed of a select group of local providers who specialize in post-acute rehabilitation and ongoing support for persons with acquired brain injury and other neurological disorders. Mentor ABI has one of the largest outcome management databases (n=1,000), which evidences the efficacy of the treatment model.
